Carrot Rice

A very delicious, easy to make rice recipe which i make once in couple of weeks. Learn how to make this simple carrot rice recipe here.

Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 5-6

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Basmati rice
  • 1/4 kg carrots
  • 1 large onion
  • 2-4 cloves
  • 2-3 Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp ghee
  • salt to taste

  1. Wash the rice. Drain the water completely and keep it aside for 2-3 hours.
  2. Wash the carrots and grate them.
  3. Chop onion vertically.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and tamper mustard seeds. Add cloves, cinnamon and onion. Fry until golden brown.
  5. Now add grated carrots. Fry till carrots are cooked.
  6. Now add rice and fry in a low flame.
  7. Pressure cook the rice with double water compared to rice quantity and salt for 40 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with raita or Curd.
